Playground in Welfenallee is extensively renewed and expanded

The popular playground at Welfenallee 18 in the Frohnau district currently undergoes comprehensive renewal and supplement by the street and green space office of the Reinickendorf district office. The last time the playground was renovated in 2013, and now after eleven years, refresher is urgently needed.

The playground has been very popular since its facility, especially among smaller children. In order to supplement the existing offer and improve the existing play equipment, a redesign is made in cooperation with residents and young users. A new climbing combination device called "Hansel and Gretel" is installed on the free meadow to support the fairy tale topic of the playground. In addition, a small slide is added and a new wide rocker is placed in the area of the swings in the form of a "bat".

The district councilor Julia Schrod-Thiel (CDU) from the Department of Order, Environment and Transport is pleased with the planned changes and cooperation with the residents. The renovation work is expected to be completed by the end of June 2024 in order to be available to visitors in good time for the summer. The Reinickendorf district office provides 100,000 euros for this.

The redesign and renewal of playgrounds is an important step to maintain and improve the leisure activities for children in the region. The inclusion of the residents and the young user when designing the playground will certainly achieve a positive response. It is encouraging that the local authorities take the importance of children's playgrounds for the community seriously and take appropriate measures to improve
