Reinickendorfer Olympian: One year full of emotions and new destinations

Yesterday in the office of district mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner was an exciting day full of emotions! Three true champions from Reinickendorf - the rower Olaf Roggensack, the sailor Anna Markfort and athlete Karolina Pahlitzsch - came together to share her experiences from the Olympic Games in Paris. From hopes and dreams to painful disappointments and overwhelming pride. These athletes are the heart of German sport and have represented their district with flying colors!

Demirbüken-Wegner did not miss the opportunity to congratulate the athletes on their impressive nomination. "You made us extremely proud! Proud that you can't buy!" Her words echoed through the room, while everyone present felt the importance of this recognition for the athletes. "Your hard work and constant training to measure yourself with the best athletes in the world are admirable. I would like to thank you on behalf of all Reinickendorfer," added the mayor. What a motivating reception!

sporty heights and emotional moments

Already in 2021 Olaf Rygensack was a class of his own at the rowing eight and won the silver medal. However, he experienced the Olympic Games in Paris even more intensely. "In Tokyo, the stands were empty because of Corona, but in Paris? The mood was indescribable! The spectators were just there!" He said with enthusiasm. And the fighting spirit will be unbroken: "Next year we will attack again at the World Championships!"

Anna Markfort was also full of hope in Marseille. With medals in the back of the head, she faced the competition, only to have to be disappointed in the end when the "mixed two -hand dye". The wind just didn't want to play along! But she remains optimistic: "It was the beginning!". And athlete Karolina Pahlitzsch, who was again nominated for the season but not used, also feels undefeated: "It can't have been yet!"

a strong team for the future

Sports City Councilor Harald Muschner touched those present with his clear message: "You two are an example of how important it is to promote our talents in sport and create the best conditions. Your enthusiasm for sport will be passed on from generation to generation." With a look into the future, he expressed his best wishes: "Keep it up!"
