District management in Auguste-Viktoria-Kiez is committed to accessibility

According to a report by www.berlin.de an inspection or rollover of the business in the neighborhood and the neighborhood management office carried out in order to sensitize traders to more accessibility.
During the inspection, various challenges for people with disabilities were discussed, such as close and high shelves, missing ramps, lack of blind control systems or difficult to reach. These obstacles can make access to business difficult and make purchasing for people with disabilities inaccessible.
However, the traders in the neighborhood were very open to the suggestions and information on the neighborhood management and were ready to design their business premises.
District City Councilor Korinna Stephan (B90 /Greens) encourages all business leaders to make small changes in order to enable access to their shops and purchasing for all people.
During the inspection it was also found that the neighborhood management office is not accessible to everyone, since the existing ramp is not designed for motorized, heavy wheelchairs. Korinna Stephan immediately promised support to make the office accessible to everyone.
Accessibility in Auguste-Viktoria-Kiez is an important concern for neighborhood management in order to enable everyone to participate in public life.
