Festival of religions: Celebrate diversity and live dialogue in Frohnau!

Buddhistisches Haus, Edelhofdamm 54, 13465 Berlin, Deutschland - On Saturday, July 5, 2025, the district office Reinickendorf celebrates a festival of religions in the Buddhist House in Frohnau. The event lasts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is organized by district mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner (CDU). The festival aims to promote inter -religious dialogue and celebrate the cultural diversity in the district. Admission is free and the event wants to address all Reinickendorf citizens.

The program begins at 10 a.m. with a ceremonial opening in which the district mayor and representatives of various religious communities keep greetings. At 10:30 a.m. there is an interreligious panel discussion, in which Selin Topal from the Ditib Selimiye mosque Tegel and Thomas Harms from the Reinickendorf church district will take part. This important discussion is moderated by Emine Demirbüken-Wegner. The panel participants will represent various perspectives from Islam, Christianity, Judaism and Buddhism and thus offer a broad view of the topics of faith and cultural diversity.

Workshops are also planned in the course of the festival, which deal with injective practices and social values. These offers include a workshop on the subject of "prayer, meditation and silence" as well as another about common values. In addition to these formal program items, visitors can also expect a musical stage program with dance and artistic contributions. Particular attention is paid to interactive offers that are aimed at all age groups.

A lunch buffet at 12 p.m. promotes the coexistence and exchange of the participants. The end of the event is a joint planting of a tree at 3:30 p.m., which symbolically stands for cohesion, rooting and the common future. The event is also enriched by the participation of many religious communities, including the Catholic Church and various Muslim and Jewish communities, which reflects the diversity of beliefs in Berlin.
