Insight into the view of young people in Reinickendorf: report reveals needs and concerns
Reinickendorf emphasizes the voice of young people in the new report
The Reinickendorf district recently published an innovative "Report on the point of view of young people", which offers an insight into the perspective of young people. The three -member team of the district coordination for children and adolescents created this extensive report, which was presented to the youth welfare committee on Wednesday, July 17th. The publication of such reports every four years is a new step in the active involvement of youth in decision -making processes. The report comprises 28 pages and contains an attachment with other relevant information that is available for download online on the website of the youth welfare office under "Participation of children and young people Reinickendorf".
In this reporting period from 2022 to 2024, almost 900 children and adolescents between the ages of 6 and 26 took part in extensive surveys. They expressed their thoughts on various topics such as leisure activities, search for accommodation and climate change. For example, 74% of the respondents wanted better information about alcohol, smoking and drugs, while 68% expressed their concern about the environment and climate change. In addition, the young people have evaluated the existing youth work offers in the district, and the most important topics were discussed in qualitative group interviews with 21 participants. The report contains extensive quotes from these conversations, which give an insight into the thoughts and wishes of the young people.
Alexander Ewers, City Councilor of the SPD, emphasizes the importance of this report as an instrument in order to significantly involve young people in decision -making processes. He sees the direct participation of the young people as essential and emphasizes the need to take their needs and concerns seriously. The report provides valuable findings that are intended to help adapt the district's offers to the young people and to continuously improve. The right to participate young people must be taken seriously and strengthened by everyone, says Ewers.
The printed copies of the report are distributed in the district, and interested parties are welcome to contact the team of participation coordination for children and adolescents in order to obtain further information. For questions and suggestions, the team is available at the e-mail address jugendleitung@reinickendorf.berlin.de to promote an open dialogue with the population.
