Both incidents illustrate the alarming frequency of racist attacks in Germany, a topic that is also discussed in the current report of the German Institute for Human Rights. The report, which was presented on December 3, 2024, deals with the developments of gender-specific violence and the implementation of the Istanbul Convention in Germany. Since November 2022, the reporting agency had the task of documenting and analyzing the progress in this sensitive area, whereby racist and sexist violence often coincides, as for [Institute for Human Rights] (https://www.institut-fuer-menschenrechte.de/menschenrechtschutz/berastungenische/Monitor-get- against Frauen).
It is urgently necessary that society and the authorities will again remind you of the full, human rights obligations in order to prevent similar incidents in the future. The investigation in both cases is of great importance for the victims in order not only to experience justice, but also to initiate a broader discussion about racism and violence.
