Queer games in Lindow: Sports Festival for everyone between fun and inclusion!
The queer games, an inclusive recreational sports event for LGBTQI people, are just around the corner. From June 27th to 29th, 2025, the sports and education center in Lindow, Brandenburg, becomes the scene of this important event. Already in the fifth edition, the event is developing into an important center for queer athletes who want to live out their passion for sport in a non -competitive environment.
The queer games have set themselves the goal of offering all participants, regardless of fitness levels or experience, the opportunity to try over 30 different sports. These include flag football, cheerleading and water ballet. In addition, an extensive supporting program is offered that includes a welcome party, a grill buffet and a team Olympiad. A highlight is the "queer game play meadow", which will come up with a bouncy castle and a scavenger hunt. The event is already fully booked, with almost 300 participants, and there are considerations to find a larger venue in the future in order to meet the growing interest. A total of 240 beds are available for the accommodation, with some participants staying at a campsite.
including participation and community exchange
Six carrier associations from Berlin, including the change of sides of Berlin, Berlin and Berlin Bruisers, organize the queer games. These clubs are actively committed to the inclusion and visibility of LGBTQI people in sports. At a time when members of the LGBTQ+ community often experience discrimination, exclusion and even violence, events such as the queer games can offer important rooms for shared experiences and support.
like Isspo.com , queer athletes are not only affected by maneuverness in everyday life, but are also often confronted with legal disadvantages in many countries. Homosexuality is punishable in 69 countries and in some countries there is even threatening death penalty for same -sex sex. These challenges make it all the more important to promote such inclusive events.
dealing with LGBTQ+ topics in the sports world varies strongly, especially in regions where queer rights are still low. Reports about the men's soccer World Cup in Qatar illustrate this problem, where homosexual fans have been called up not to show their sexuality publicly. Such an environment can have far -reaching consequences for queer athletes, including the loss of sponsors and participation rights in competitions.
The queer games in Lindow are involved in the struggle for more visibility and rights for LGBTQI people in sports. They not only offer a platform for sporting activities, but also a space for exchange, support and celebrating diversity.
