In July, a total of five queer -anti -queer attacks were reported in Lichtenberg. The Lichtenberger Register, a registration office for rights and discriminatory incidents, published a list of the reported attacks and expressed concern about the LGBTIQ*hostility in the district.

Four of the five incidents were insults and threats. On July 7th, a man in the Weitlingkiez was threatened with the words "You fagtel, you want one in the face". On July 12th there was an anti-queer insult at the Lichtenberg S-Bahn station, and on July 22, a group of young people was tackled. On the same day, three women in Neu-Hohenschönhausen were persecuted and spat on the enemies of trans- and queer motivation. As fifth incident, the register lists the renewed desecration of Trans Frau Ella Nik Bayan. The group condemns this pietary and anti -queer act.

The queer -political spokeswoman for the Greens in the district council of Lichtenberg, Leonie Köhler, also expressed concern. She emphasized that queer people in Lichtenberg cannot even feel safe in death. It calls on district mayor Martin Schaefer (CDU) to act. It is necessary to create more information and visibility for emergency telephones and to support the “Emergency Entrance campaign” campaign. This campaign calls for business to offer shelter for those affected by the violence and to point it out with stickers.

The incidents show that the LGBTIQ*hostility in Lichtenberg continues to be a problem.
