Nursing insurance in the crisis: urgent reform requirement required
The alarm bells ring! The long -term care insurance in Germany is on the abyss and the ver.di union is alarm with full power. In an urgent appeal, ver.di warns the Federal Government to continue to ignore the growing problems in nursing. The times of watching are over - now it has to be traded!
The dramatic situation is obvious: the horrendous financial burdens for long -term care insurance must be tackled urgently. More and more people are not only faced with increasing contributions, but also confronted with exorbitant own shares in care facilities. "That overwhelms people!" Said Richard Rother, member of the ver.di federal board. What the citizens really need is full insurance that covers all care -related costs! This is the only way to ensure that they live in old age.
The demands of ver.di
The union calls for a fundamental reform of the system! All citizens should contribute to financing according to their income - and yes, including capital gains! Solidarious financing is the key to ensure the income in the long term, to ensure less premium increases and more protection against performance cuts.
- Pension insurance for caring relatives should be financed from tax funds!
- The consequences of the Corona pandemic must not be passed on to the insured!
"It is simply intolerable to continue to burden the people in need of care and the payers - that must have an end!", Added Rother, in a passionate call to those responsible. Time is pushing, and the need for an immediate reform of long -term care insurance can no longer be ignored!
Berlin, the capital, faces a non -portable situation. The problems are too big to turn them under the carpet. Society has to stand and act together - now!
Lean back and wait? Not with ver.di!
