Parking management on the Schöneberg island is delayed due to the lack of signs

comprehensive parking machines within the S-Bahn ring were the destination of the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district. But the implementation is delayed due to delivery problems in signage. The planned zone 89 on the Schöneberger island is therefore not introduced for the time being. The responsible city councilor Saskia Ellenbeck (40, Greens) announced that the delay will take at least three weeks.

In contrast, the Pankow district will increase parking fees from next week. Over 800 parking ticket machines will be changed by August 9th. The fees are raised by one or two or three euros/hour in each level and then amount to two or three or four euros per hour. From August the cell phone parking will also be adjusted accordingly.

However, bicycles, pedelecs, cargo bikes, light motorcycles and motorcycles can continue to be parked free of charge in the parking lots.

This information clarifies that the introduction of parking space management on the Schöneberger island cannot be carried out as planned due to delays in the delivery of the signs. At the same time, the Pankow district will show an increase in parking fees from next week.
