Still disco pleasure in the community park: Silent Disco and Skate Contest on September 14th

Next Saturday, September 14, 2024, a special event will take place in the Pankow community park: a "Silent Disco". From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., interested parties can take part in this extraordinary event on the meadow next to the skate park. The organization is located in the hands of the Think Si3 park care team, Outreach Mobile Youth Work Berlin, the Sound of Silence team and with the support of the Pankow district office. Participants receive headphones on site and have the opportunity to choose between three music channels, including electronic sounds or pop hits. Participation is free of charge and registration in advance is not required.

An important objective of this event is to draw attention to the problem of noise emissions in public spaces. Rest disturbances in parks and green areas are frequent annoyances that lead to conflicts. The Silent Disco will strengthen awareness of respectful use of the environment and for each other, without neglecting the fun. Manuela Anders-Granitzki, district councilor for order and public space, emphasizes the importance of this sensitization.

Before the Silent Disco, a skate contest takes place, which is traditionally organized by Outreach. Young people between the ages of 12 and 25 have the opportunity to demonstrate their skateboard skills. Registration is possible on site from 12 p.m., the contest begins at 2 p.m. and participation is also free.

It promises to become a varied and entertaining evening for young and old, which not only offers fun and music, but also addresses important social issues and encourages you to think. Further details on this exciting event can be found on the website of www.berlin.de .
