The highest honor, the Otto Brenner Prize for Critical Journalism, is going to the daring Christian Schweppe this year. With a prize money of 10,000 euros, his gripping research was honored for one of the largest fiasco of the past government: "Madness. A giant shit" appeared on January 4, 2024 in time and illuminates the catastrophic failure in the evacuation of Afghan helpers. The second place and 5,000 euros go to the determined team of 'Stern Investigative' for their incoming Tesla analysis. Her examination covered shocking security deficiencies and environmental damage at the production sites. In a year full of challenges, they bluntly documented the dark side of a company that is considered a prime example of the industrial future.

Another winner is the local reporter team of the "Hohenloher Tagblatt", which was awarded third prize for his tireless reporting on right-wing extremists in the Hohenlohe youth center.
