Healthy daycare centers: Neukölln strengthens health and education quality

The Neukölln youth councilor Sarah Nagel has signed an agreement with eight daycare providers today, which will enable concrete practical support in the further development of educational and health quality in Neuköllner daycare centers. Cooperation in the Berlin State Program for the Healthy Kita (LGGK) continues to support over 400 daycare centers throughout Berlin. The signing took place in the Neukölln town hall and was supported by the Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family. The program aims to sustainably improve the health situation of all those involved in the daycare system and is supported by specially qualified process companions and coordinators.

As part of the program, participating daycare centers receive professional support and accompanying materials in order to support the quality process with the focus of health and well -being. After the two -year implementation phase, the sustainability phase begins, combined with other specialist conferences. An investigation by the University of Leipzig has found that the program has been shown to lead to improvements in the areas of health and well -being of children, health -promoting working conditions and participation of parents.

The program has achieved outstandingly good experiences in other Berlin districts and is designed as a long-term offer with a professionally accompanied organizational and quality development process. Interested daycare centers can apply for the implementation phase VIII (2026/27) from the responsible district coordination or directly in the state coordination of the LGGK.

The following table lists the participating Neuköllner Kita carriers who signed the new 2-year implementation agreement:
