New residential and commercial accommodation at the Kabenwerk Köpenick: floor renovation begins
The renovation of the Köpenick cable works is progressing! Where cables were once made, Buwog plans an exciting living and commercial accommodation with a modern note. The time of decay is over - the first excavators are already rolling on and progressing is obvious.
On the gigantic area of around 66,000 square meters-that is more than nine soccer fields-between the Salvador-Allende-Brücke and the Spree, modern habitats are created. The factory buildings, which have been empty and expire since their closure in the 1990s, are finally brought to life.
from the wasteland to the habitat
In the near future, the site with around 920 new apartments, a daycare center and rooms for service companies and gastronomy will blossom. An urban center is created, which combines art and work and upgrades the neighborhood!
The first steps to renovate have already started! From October 2024, BUWOG will fix the environmental sins of the past with experts. Old, dilapidated buildings are torn down, the historical areas are secured and contaminated soil disposed of professionally. The entire process will take about 15 months - a clear step towards a successful future!
A strong partner in the real estate industry
The Buwog has over 70 years of experience in the residential property industry and leaves no doubt - it knows how to plan and implement modern living space. As part of its development projects in Germany, BUWOG currently has around 55,000 apartments in construction or in planning. With the Kabelwerk-Küpenick project, she sets another sign of promising urban development.
The anticipation for the new quarters grows-the Buwog and the Treptow-Köpenick district have big plans to link proven tradition with modern living. Stay tuned and follow how the former wasteland will soon bloom!
