New multimedia experience: Tutankhamun in metavers in Berlin and Munich
A look at the time of Tutankhamun: Technological progress brings the old Egypt to life
From September 6, 2024, visitors in Berlin and from October 9, 2024 in Munich can experience the fascinating world of Tutankhamun through an innovative multimedia exhibition. This modern, immersive presentation uses the latest technology to make the history of the famous Pharaoh and its time tangible.
The exhibition, which is an outstanding example of the use of Virtual Reality (VR), takes place in the New Media Art Center in Berlin and in the Utopia in Munich. The event builds on the historical discoveries of the tomb of Tutankhamun, which was discovered by Howard Carter in 1922, and leads visitors on a journey through the valley of the kings.
By using VR technology, the exhibition makes access to the history easier and more exciting. Visitors have the opportunity to explore the grave of the pharaoh and to gain a better understanding of the old Egypt, its gods and the death cult. Not only are impressive replicas and replicas exhibited that illustrate the splendor of the time, but also an interactive experience that combines historical knowledge with modern means.
