New model project: Berlin district Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg is testing 'CityTree-noiseomat' at the Admiral Bridge for noise reduction in celebrating people

Berlin relies on innovative methods in the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district to contain the nightly noise problem. In a model project, a “CityTree noiseomat” is now used at the Admiral Bridge in Kreuzberg to measure the noise level. As soon as it gets too loud, a red lamp lights up and warns the celebrating people. In addition, people near an advertisement are asked to rest.

The device not only has the purpose of checking the noise level. It is equipped with "moss modules" that can clean and cool the air of fine dust. District Mayor Clara Herrmann from the Greens announces that the model project will initially run until October.

In order to persuade the party people to consider more consideration, the district office also uses "night light". These employees are traveling in the party zones on Fridays and Saturdays from 8:00 p.m. to 4.00 a.m. Your goal is to ensure peaceful and understanding coexistence. They speak to celebrating, tourists, pub hosts and residents and help with concerns and questions. In the event of violations, you can inform the police or the regulatory office. This model test should run until the end of the year.

With these measures, the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district hopes that the nightly noise and a better quality of life for residents hope for a reduction in nightly noise. The "CityTree noiseomat" and the "night light" could make an important contribution. It remains to be seen how the model project develops and whether it is implementable to transfer this concept to other parts of the city.
