Karl-Marx-Allee 31, 10178 Berlin, Deutschland - On June 11, 2025, the district councilor for school and sports, Benjamin Fritz, announced new office hours for school registrations in primary schools, community schools and secondary schools. These changes concern the parents whose children were born between October 1st and September 30, 2020, since they are enrolled in 2026.

The office hours in the district office, Karl-Marx-Allee 31, 10178 Berlin, are now: Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. For parents who need an appointment outside of these times, contact can be made via the e-mail address school organization@ba-mitte.berlin.de. In order to increase the accessibility, it is recommended to register guests with language investigation or assistance needs in advance.

important deadlines and procedures

The children are registered directly at the primary school or community school in the catchment area. The competent school is communicated by the district school office, whereby a written application is necessary if the desire exists to choose another school. Service Berlin explains the procedure.

The registration period for the school year 2026/2027 extends from October 6th to 17th, 2025. It is important that the parents appear personally to register and be recommended to bring the child with you too. In the first step, the registration sheet must be created and signed on site at school. In addition, early schooling for certain children can be considered if there is no need for language.
