New subway generation for Berlin is delayed-BVG expects reliable schedule

The Berlin Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) examine contractual aspects in relation to the delivery of the new generation of subway. According to a report by the Berliner Zeitung, the new trains for the Berlin subway have been overdue for some time and there are always delays in delivery. The Swiss Stadler company is to assemble the new vehicles, but other companies such as Alstom, Bombardier and Siemens have criticized the award procedure and submitted complaints. According to the BVG, there are no acute vehicle defects, but it is expected that the renewal process of the subway fleet will finally be predictable. However, there is no fixed delivery date for the test and series vehicles. The BVG has started to investigate contractual aspects of the problem and complained about the delays at the Stadler Group's tip. It remains to be seen how long it will take before the new subway trains can finally be put into operation.
