A new chapter on Vitako begins: from October 1, 2023, Lars Hoppmann and Katrin Giebel take the lead! Here a fresh wind comes into the Federal Working Group of the municipal IT service providers! Lars Hoppmann, who comes from the East Westphalia-Lippe-IT, not only has plenty of experience, but also a clear vision. He is ready to promote the digital transformation of public administration - and that immediately!
In his new office, Hoppmann will represent the interests of the 59 Vitako members and do everything possible to bring key issues such as administrative digitalization and data security forward. With its valuable knowledge from the field of e-government, he brings fresh swing to the organization!
The new faces at the top!
Katrin Giebel, who is a deputy managing director, comes with an impressive expertise in administrative digitization and communication with stakeholders. She knows the challenges at the interface between politics, administration and business like no other. "I look forward to working together with Lars Hoppmann and the whole team on the further development of Vitako," she explains.
"We are working on actively shaping the digital future of local authorities," adds Hoppmann ambitious. He plans to promote the digital sovereignty of the member organizations through strategic partnerships and targeted public relations work and to strengthen cyber security.

Hoppmann takes over the full management and will take care of all personnel and economic issues. "My goal is to design the digital transformation in such a way that our 59 members benefit from innovative solutions," he says combative.
In the next few months, the new management team will now set the course for Vitako's future. While Hoppmann heads digitization and the main strategic partnerships, Giebel will continue to be responsible for community management. Together they want to consolidate the organization in their role as a central point of contact for municipalities and decision-makers in the IT area.
Short and compact: Who is Lars Hoppmann?
He studied European Public Management in Paderborn and has extensive knowledge from different positions. Among other things, he was active in the city administration of Bünde and in the municipal data center in Minden-Ravensberg. He not only drove the ISO 27001 certification, but was also largely involved in the merger of the IT Association of East Westphalia-Lippe-IT!

Giebel has a striking career as a branch manager of Vitako and as a project manager for administrative digitization. She will now bring in her knowledge to make Vitako even more effective and to expand the influence of the organization.
