New bicycle repair station in Plänterwald: Practical help for cyclists
new bicycle repair station in the Plänterwald
Since the end of last week, a bright green pillar has been shining on the corner of the extended Bulgarian Straße and the new Krugallee in the Plänterwald. This bicycle repair station is part of the initiative of the Senate Department for Mobility and Transport, which has set up 20 such stations across Berlin in public space-the first of them in the Treptow-Köpenick district.
The station not only offers the option of repairing and pumping on bicycles, but also strollers and wheelchairs. So that cyclists can work comfortably, there is a practical suspension for the bicycles. The tool is secured by a simple coin lock to prevent vandalism.
District City Councilor Dr. Claudia Leistner emphasizes the importance of this new ward for promoting sustainable mobility in the Treptow-Köpenick district. She sees it as an important addition to the expansion of the cycle path infrastructure and as an option for cyclists to carry out smaller repairs directly on site on the European Cycle Path R1.
This new bicycle repair station facilitates the mobility of the citizens and contributes to the attractiveness of bicycle traffic by offering practical solutions for repairs and making public space more usable.
