New sustainable school and sports hall in Marzahn-Hellersdorf
On Friday, July 5, 2024, there was a special day for the educational landscape in Marzahn-Hellersdorf. The topping -out ceremony for a new, innovative primary school with a sports hall took place, and the joy of this development was noticeable.
The new 4-day modular primary school is being built in the context of the Berlin school building offensive (BSO II) in administrative assistance for the district. This construction project not only brings urgently needed school places, but also modern teaching and learning opportunities for the students.
The primary school is built according to the school-pedagogical concept of the Compermannschule, which enables innovative teaching and learning situations. The Senator for Education, Youth and Family Katharina Günther-Lüsch emphasized the importance of this new school for the children in Marzahn-Hellersdorf. With the space concept of the Berlin learning and team houses, a friendly, including environment for the approximately 576 schoolchildren.
The topping -out ceremony was celebrated by Senator Christian Gaebler as the seventh of this type program. The modular construction enables quick implementation even at unusual locations such as the terrace-shaped Elsenstrasse in Marzahn-Hellersdorf.
The basis of the building is the award -winning design by the architecture firm Bruno Fioretti Marquez GmbH. The implementation takes place in accordance with the standards of the State of Berlin for the construction of schools with a certification at quality level "silver" in the sustainable construction of the federal government.
The 4-day primary school will not only provide teaching at the level of the time, but will also be equipped with a barrier-free sports hall. This hall can also be used by clubs and thus contributes to the stronger networking of the school with the community.
The modular structure of the school building and the sports hall enable an efficient construction and contribute to the sustainability of the project. The use of prefabricated components by the general contractor Klebl GmbH enables a short construction period and economic implementation.
Overall, the total costs for the new school with a sports hall and outdoor facilities amount to around 80 million euros-an investment in the future of education in Marzahn-Hellersdorf.
