Plan the business game for district policy in the Berlin-Mitte city library with us

According to a report by www.berlin.de, the district mayor of Mitte, Stefanie Remlinger, informs about an upcoming event in the Berlin-Mitte city library. On October 12, 2023, there will be a business game for district politics from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. under the motto "Cycle instead of lawn?!". Visitors should playfully experience how district policy works in the city.

In the business game, the question is discussed whether the conversion of a model road into a bicycle road is the right measure to make cycling safer, as a citizens' initiative demands. The participants slip into the role of BVV members of the fictional Berlin district of Biberfelde and have to solve conflicts of interest together with other players and come to an agreement to help shape the district in the sense of their voters.

This event could have local effects by strengthening awareness of security in cycling and possibly leading to discussions about which measures should be taken in Berlin to improve safety for cyclists. As one of the largest German cities with a strong cyclist culture, bicycle traffic is of great importance for Berlin. The discussion and commitment of the citizens are to be further promoted by the business game.
