New playground in the Volkspark am Weinberg: a place for joy and movement
The excitement is huge! The popular playground in the Volkspark am Weinberg has experienced a spectacular make-over and is now shining in new splendor. From December 2024, our little discoverers and friends can plunge back to the playground!
Finally the time has come! The redesign has been completed and the playground, which is one of the most important in the very middle, is ready for happy playing and romping. District City Councilor Christopher Schriner and his colleague Christoph Keller proudly present the results of their efforts and tend to the voices of the children, who are already waiting impatiently for reopening.
important renovations
In the past few months, so many significant maintenance and repair work have been carried out there! The former play areas now shine in blue and are equipped with new, exciting play equipment. Particularly impressive: the area for the little ones and the popular football field were subjected to a comprehensive facelift!
But that's not all! The city also paid attention to accessibility so that every child - whether with or without disabilities - can discover the game world. A small drop of bitterness remains: A few final work must be postponed to spring 2025 because the weather does not play along. But this will not reduce the anticipation for the great return of the playground!
together strong!
A highlight of the redesign was the children's participation! In October 2023, the young users were able to bring their wishes and ideas into the conversion via the children's and youth office. Your voices have actually influenced! The renovation measures cost around 450,000 euros and were made possible by generous grants from the State of Berlin and the district's investment funds.
In spring 2025, the district office will organize a big celebration to celebrate everything. After the conversions, the playground will undoubtedly offer the heart for children and adolescents and a place full of adventure and fun!
