Art at the construction in Berlin Mitte: Artistic design in public space
The district mayor of Mitte, Stefanie Remlinger, informs that on the occasion of the day of architecture on the last weekend in June from June 4, the art on the construction projects of the past twelve years will be presented in the Mitte district in the show. Art in construction has been built since 1979 according to the instructions in connection with public construction work. Art at the construction in Berlin Mitte: Artistic design in public space
The district mayor of Mitte, Stefanie Remlinger, informs that on the occasion of the day of architecture on the last Juni weekend from June 4th in the showcase at Mathilde-Jacob-Platz, art on the construction projects of the past twelve years will be presented in the Mitte district. Art in construction has been built since 1979 according to the instructions in connection with public construction work. In the Mitte district, art has been realized on the construction projects at various public buildings since 2012, including youth leisure facilities, schools and cultural institutions.
Among other things, works of art by artists such as Angela Mewes, Marianna Castillo Deball, MSK7, Susanne Bosch and others were realized as part of competitive procedures. These works of art are related to the architecture and the use of the respective building as well as the surrounding urban space. Art in building enables everyday spaces to enrich art and thus changes the perspective on architecture and public space.
The district mayor Stefanie Remlinger emphasizes the importance of art in building and art in public spaces, especially in school buildings and educational institutions. The competitive procedures for the implementation of art in the construction projects contribute to the promotion of art and education and are an important part of the building culture.
