The provisional district councilor for order, environment, nature, streets and green areas, Benjamin Fritz, recently announced that on Sunday, April 28, 2024, a three -hour excursion to the oldest trees will take place. This event is intended to draw attention to how important trees are as vital and highly valued nature and cultural assets.

In Berlin there are some impressive tree copies, including the "thick Marie", which is about 900 years old, and a white mulberry tree from the 17th century, which was planted by Huguenots. Diplomiologist Gunter Martin will present interesting information about the naming and history of these trees during the excursion.
The excursion starts in front of the Friedrichstadtpalast and requires a AB ticket for the trip to Alt-Tegel. Participation is free, but the event is not barrier -free. Further information can be obtained from the environmental and nature conservation office in the middle.
