A demonstration takes place in a Kreuzberg neighborhood to request the preservation of a popular spati. After the house was sold, the operators received the termination in October in March. But they are not willing to go. Instead, the landlord presented a new offer: the rent is to increase from 17 to 43 euros per square meter, and a new deposit of 8000 euros is due. This amount appears inappropriate because a maximum of 30 euros per square meter are usually required in the area.

The regular customers are worried about the situation. Jason Hölzel (57), who regularly meets with friends for an after -work beer in the Späti and knows the father of the current owner, emphasizes: "This is not possible." Cook Nicole Hänsler (53) also feared that she would be missing.
