Media Award Leopold 2024: award for best music production for children
The WDR Funkhaus Cologne was the scene of a musical festival of extra class on September 27, 2024! The Leopold media prize, a significant honor for outstanding children's music productions, celebrated its 14th award. A real explosion of creativity and the talent was awarded the prestigious seal of approval!
Since 1997, the Association of German Music Schools (VDM) has set standards with this price and brings children closer to the magical world of music. Under the watchful eye of an expert jury, led by Reinhart von Gutzeit, the seven best productions were selected from more than 100 entries. The price is a real highlight for everyone who produces "good music for children"!
The winners who have conquered the children's hearts!
The excellent awards went to various innovative productions this year, and the web app "Songs of Cultures - a musical journey around the world" by A.Muse - Interactive Design Studio, which was rewarded with the special "Leopold Interactive" prize. This interactive platform for music and education impresses children and families in an impressive way!
Friedrich-Koh Dolge, the chairman of the VDM, proudly aimed at the audience and emphasized the importance of the award: "We want to bring children closer to the miracles of music, and the award winners of this year convinced again with their creative ideas and the high quality standards!"
The Federal Youth Minister Lisa Paus also did not miss the opportunity to convey a significant message: "The Leopold media prize is the absolute guide in the children's music market. Finding good children's music is not an easy task, but at the same time so important-because music accompanies children in their development!"
award by the children's jury
The special thing about this award: The children's jury of the Humboldtgymnasium Cologne selected their favorites from the list of recommended sound carriers! Under the direction of teacher Andrea Tenhagen, the winners of the Poldi special prize were ceremoniously presented in a children's narrator concert. The CD "Ritter Rost und Familie Schrottkompot" and "Maybebop - Kinderkram" received this outstanding honor and once again showed that children are the best critics!
The Leopold is more than just an award - it is a sign of quality and innovation in the field of children's music. With the support of the Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth, this award is awarded every two years and remains an indispensable part of the German music landscape. Partners such as the Kulturradio WDR 3 and the Initiative Hör e.V. also contribute to the radiance of this honor.
