Project in the yellow quarter: Neighborhood engagement enlivens the yellow district in Hellersdorf.
After three years of term, the project “We in the yellow quarter” initiated a lot of commitment in the yellow quarter. The yellow quarter is a neighborhood in Hellersdorf that extends along the new Grottkauer Straße. The project "We in the yellow district" pursues the goal of better networking people on site so that they use public space more for neighborly activities.
So far, the initiative has organized various promotions with residents, including the annual summer festival and the interactive flea market. Both events are very popular and attract more and more visitors. The hands-on flea market offers up to 20 stands and takes place regularly. Both events take place on the Mosaikplatz, which was revived by the neighborly engagement.
Especially the children of the many young families in the yellow quarter benefit from the family -friendly actions. The neighborhood shows great interest and commitment to sustainably support social cohesion. It is even considered to found a non -profit association. The city and country also agreed to have financial support for the interaction flea market in November.
The hands-on flea market can still be attended on two dates this year: on October 28th and November 25th, 2023 on the mosaic square. An application for further financing from 2024 was submitted.
