New Berlin network Repami promotes sustainable repair culture

repair workshop - also in Hellersdorf - continue to develop, develop it and that together

A sustainable solution to the disposable company was launched with the start of the Berlin network Repami. The aim of the network is to promote repairs and create alternatives to constant material consumption.

Repami presents a large number of craft businesses and repair initiatives in Berlin as well as their services. For the first time, commercial repair companies and volunteer repair cafes of the city are combined in a platform. This makes it easier for Berliners to access repair options, be it by commercial service providers or by separating them under the guidance in a repair café.

The capital recorded around 1.4 million repairs annually, which are made by commercial and non-commercial providers. In order to further increase this number, sustainable support from the Repami network is of great importance.

A significant part of this network is the "bright community workshop" in Hellersdorf. This repair workshop is not only a place for creative minds, but also a contact point for relatives of all ages and knowledge that wants to work together.

An extensive tool pool is available to visitors to carry out repairs on everyday objects and to get involved in the area of smart home design. Workshops are offered that convey the handling of technical tools such as laser cutters, CNC milling or 3D printers. In addition, learning to use small computers is on the program. Craft afternoons for families with children are regularly organized.

Matthias Zwerschke, the head of the workshop, emphasizes the variety of repairs that can be carried out there. From small toys to washing machines, everything is possible. Only printer, cell phones and tablets are a challenge due to their construction and are not repaired.

  • The bright citizens' workshop is located in Hellersdorf in the veterinarian, Oschatzer Ring 1, 12627 Berlin. The Helle-Buererwerkstatt / Hell-Tierarche is available for further information. Contact options: Telephone: (030) 55877603

The “Repami” network network is funded by the State of Berlin and plays an important role in mobility, traffic, climate protection and the environment.
