Allotment gardener comedy: Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream in a new staging
This weekend, the theater group "Ex Tempore" will present a contemporary interpretation of selected scenes from William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" in cooperation with the Theater am Park. The performances will take place on Saturday, April 13th at 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in the Theater am Park in Berlin.
The theater group "Ex Tempore" was created from Theater AG of the Hellersdorf East district center and is headed by the theater director Oleg Myrzak, who is also a member of the Mittelülle Leben e.V. In this staging, Myrzak skilfully transferred the piece to a modern allotment gardener atmosphere in which the characters are not craftsmen, but members of a theater club. The group has won a competition with its piece and must now play it out to the board of directors. But as usual in Shakespeare's comedies, not everything runs as planned and unexpected difficulties occur. However, the troop bravely masters all obstacles, even if it steps into the next from one fat.
For those interested who want to visit the performance, tickets are available for a price of 10 euros. You can be reserved on 030/5143714 or by email to visitor service@tap-biesdorf.de.
The Theater am Park is located in Frankenholzer Weg 4 in 12683 Berlin and is easy to reach by public transport. The connection takes place via the S-Bahn (S Biesdorf, S+U Wuhletal), the subway (S+U Wuhletal, U5, U Elsterwerdaer Platz), as well as various bus lines (e.g. 154, 291, 108, 398).
It is expected that the contemporary interpretation of Shakespeare's masterpiece will attract an audience of theater lovers and cultural fans who appreciate a fresh and original approach to the classic piece. The combination of traditional elements and modern covers promises an entertaining and original theater experience for all visitors.
