Next Friday, May 31, 2024, the annual day of the neighbors will take place, in which the Lichtenberg district will participate with a variety of events. This day of action is a nationwide initiative that aims to strengthen the cooperation in the neighborhoods and to raise awareness of the importance of neighborhood.

District Mayor Martin Schaefer (CDU) emphasizes that the neighborhood not only means living side by side, but also offering help, being there for each other and celebrating together. He asks the residents of Lichtenberg to use the day of the neighbors to experience special encounters in their neighborhoods.

In the various districts of Lichtenberg, districts are offered events such as flea markets, neighborhood festivals and creative markets. Some examples include a neighborhood festival on Anna-Ebermann-Straße, a barbecue in the Kieztreff Undine in Hagenstraße, a creative market in the Margaret meeting in Zachertstraße, open advice with coffee and shower in the volunteer agency Oskar on Weitlingstrasse and Upcycling as well as bicycle repair in the garage in Sewanstrasse.
