On Monday, September 9, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. , the Alfa-Mobil of the Federal Association of Swhababetization and Basic Education (BVAG) will be stationed 1st in front of the Linden Center in 13051 Berlin-Hohenschönhausen. This mobile advisory service offers important support for adults with reading and writing weakness.

Illophabetism affects many people in Germany, not only in the Lichtenberg district. The everyday challenges of reading newspapers, writing notes for the children or sending emails in the office are a significant hurdle for many. The importance of this initiative is shown in the high acceptance of the offers of help, which are provided in the context of the campaign "Reading and writing proudly".

The employees of the Alfa-Mobil also provide information about the causes and consequences of illiteracy in Germany. The contact point is strengthened by working with local organizations, such as the Alpha alliance Lichtenberg and the Margarete Steffin Volkshochschule.
