District City Councilor for Family and Youth, Camilla Schuler von der Left, emphasizes the importance of the children's opera house as an example of successful child and youth work. The new play was developed by 32 children in cooperation with an artistic-educational team. The detective story will lead the audience through the world of opera.
Production includes musical pieces by well -known composers such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, George Bizet, Giuseppe Verdi and also Andrew Lloyd Webber. The Lichtenberg children's opera house was founded in 2009 and is a cooperation between the Caritas Association for the Archdiocese of Berlin e. V., the State Opera Unter den Linden, the Schostakovich Music School and the Lichtenberg district. The project has been awarded multiple awards and enables children of primary school age to actively work in the music theater and get to know the world of the opera.
The annual productions take place in the State Opera or in the Lichtenberg district and are funded by the Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family. Further information is available on the website www.kinderopernhaus-lichtenberg.de.
