Iguanan escapes lion hunt and causes a surprise to the Federal Ministry of Economy and Climate Protection
iguana surprises Berliner: Inner city excursion for the exotic reptile
While the Berlin authorities were looking feverishly for a suspected lioness in the south of the capital, a Leguan in the center of Berlin caused an unexpected excitement. The exotic animal was discovered on Thursday on the grounds of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK).
The BMWK itself shared the unusual encounter with nature on Friday via Twitter with the words: "In large cities there are sometimes surprising encounters with nature. ... The BMWK as a diverse and resistant ecosystem." Obviously, the ministry was not too surprised by the iguanian visitor.
The district office Berlin-Mitte also informed the public about the trip of the reptile. In a tweet, however, a writing error was committed and the iguanan was called "state" instead of "stately". The veterinary supervision of the district had captured the young, 90 cm long Baumleguan on Thursday on the site of the BMWK. The animal is fine, as the district office knew how to report.
Like a spokesman for the Ministry of Robert Habeck, the Federal Minister of Economics and Climate Protection, the "Berliner Morgenpost" announced, the reptile was spotted on Thursday on the Harnhorststrasse on Thursday - on a tree. The responsible authorities were then informed by the ministry. An official doctor caught the iguana and brought him to the reptile sanctuary in Munich. How the exotic animal even got the site of the ministry is unknown.
It remains exciting which other surprises will give the Berliners in the future. Until then, it can be assumed that the capital will also produce its very own ecosystems - even to the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection.
