Clothing exchange in Spandau: Sustainable and free of charge on July 11th!

On Friday, July 11, 2025, the district central library Spandau and the Spandau climate workshop organize a clothing exchange. The event takes place from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the courtyard of the city library at Carl-Schurz-Straße 13, 13597 Berlin. This Initiative aims to promote a sustainable and solidarity exchange economy and is part of the efforts to reduce ecological footprint.

The clothing exchange does not only offer the option of refreshing your own wardrobe, but also promotes the responsible handling of resources. Participants can hand in their old but well -preserved clothing from 4 p.m. in the courtyard. The prerequisite is that the clothes are washed and in good condition. However, winter clothing is not accepted.

free and uncomplicated

The exchange itself is free of charge and registration is not required. This makes the event particularly accessible and inviting for the entire community. In addition, a seamstress will be present on site, which makes small adjustments to the clothing to ensure that they are perfect.

A clothing exchange exchange is not only an opportunity to discover new fashion ideas, but also a way to pass on old clothing and give others a new home. This form of exchange actively contributes to combating the disposable culture, which is still widespread in our society. Each piece of the clothing exchanged reduces the need for new productions and thus promotes more conscious consumption.

combine and sustainability

The organization of such a clothing exchange requires clear communication and the determination of rules regarding the accepted items of clothing and the exchange methods. In order to support the announcement of the event, social media, email or direct communication can be used. In addition, tables, clothes racks and dressing areas should be provided on the day of the exchange.

Inclusion is an important element of this event. Organizers should pay attention to barrier -free places and a variety of sizes to enable everyone to participate. Feedback from participants can be valuable to improve and adapt future events.
