On Saturday, May 17th, the annual youth regatta of the Heiligensee Canoe Club will take place at Lake Niederneuendorf. The event aims to give young athletes in different age groups the opportunity to compete in exciting races and win medals. District councilor Harald Muschner (CDU) will take part in the award ceremony and emphasizes the importance of such events for cohesion and motivation in sport.
Muschner explains that the commitment and joy of the participants while paddling is great and that the regatta is an excellent example of the liveliness of canoeing in Reinickendorf. The organization of the program and the on-site catering are carried out by volunteers, which underlines the family atmosphere of the event.
Competition and team spirit
The participants in the regatta show through their team spirit, technique and endurance what is important in canoeing. These characteristics are also characteristic of the Heiligensee Canoe Club, whose principles of cohesion and fun in sport have made it one of the most successful clubs in Germany in the field of canoe polo for over two decades. The club has won a total of 24 German championship titles and annually provides numerous national players who represent Germany in international competition, as KCNW reports.
From April to September, the performance classes, including students, youth and U21, take part in various tournaments. The highlight of the season remains the German championship. In addition to sporting activities, the club also organizes numerous events to strengthen solidarity among members, including barbecue evenings and an Oktoberfest tournament.

For anyone interested in canoeing, the magazine KANU-SPORT offers 52 pages of monthly reporting on news in canoeing. In addition to illustrated tour reports and travel recommendations, it also contains helpful maps for canoe trips. The magazine provides information about all facets of canoeing, including canoe touring, whitewater, canoe polo and many other disciplines.
The upcoming youth regatta on Lake Niederneuendorf is not only an excellent opportunity for the young athletes to prove themselves, but also an important event to promote canoeing in the region. It shows the progress and successes achieved through the commitment of clubs such as the Heiligensee Canoe Club.
