In the middle of the political turbulence, the CDU state chairwoman urges: "It is a difficult mistake to say in advance that you can only rule with a specific party!" He thus alludes to the one -sided orientation of Söder, which is not only risky for Günther, but also nonsensical. Günther counters the accusation with a sharp point: "Söder builds up his own position on an assumption. I and Hendrik Wüst have certainly not walked through the country and said that black and green is the only option for the Bundestag election!"

Günther emphasizes that in one's own political work, it is not just about badly talking the competition in order to gain their own popularity. "This is not a sign of strength," he says. Rather, the CDU had to proudly move into the Bundestag election and put its own strengths in the foreground. Political strength is not achieved by devaluations, but through cooperation and dealing with the realities of the political landscape.
