A pedestrian was hit by a tram and seriously injured in the Prenzlauer Berg district of Berlin. The accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon at 1.45 p.m. on the corner of Otto-Braun-Straße and Barnimstrasse. The 53-year-old woman crossed the pedestrian crossing without noticing the approaching tram of the M4 line. The tram driver immediately initiated a danger braking, but was no longer able to slow down in time and caught the woman. The pedestrian suffered injuries to the head, upper body, the arms and legs and was taken to hospital for inpatient treatment.
The Berlin Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) was affected by the accident and expressed their sympathy towards the injured woman and her relatives. They thanked the rescue workers for their commitment and emphasized to support the investigation in the best possible way.
