Mohamed Choukri, a Moroccan writer who came to the port city of Tanger as the son of poor Berber farmer and led a life full of defenses there, wrote his autobiography "The naked bread" in 1972. Although the book was banned in Arabic due to its openness and radicality in 1982, it is a classic together with its continuation "time of mistakes" World literature.
