wind energy: German environmental aid is urging accelerated plant construction
Deutsche Environmental Aid (DUH) calls for faster approval and construction of wind turbines in Germany. Although the current surcharges of the Federal Network Agency show positive developments, the DUH still sees considerable need for action in relation to the pace and the expansion of wind turbines in the southern part of the country.
The figures of the tenders for wind turbines on land published today are interpreted by the DUH as a positive signal after years of doldrums. They show that the accelerating measures of the traffic light government finally bear fruit. Nevertheless, the DUH warns for caution and emphasizes that the current numbers do not offer any reason to relax. The process from the approval to the commissioning of a system currently takes over 27 months and these waiting times are even increasing.
In order to increase the pace in the construction of wind turbines, the DUH calls on the self -proclaimed climate cup Olaf Scholz to take additional measures. This is the only way to promise to build four to five plants every day. Since the expansion has so far mainly taken place in northern Germany, the DUH also urges the southern federal states to become active and to provide more areas for wind energy and to accelerate the approval of systems.
Deutsche Environmental Aid has already submitted concrete suggestions to increase the pace in the construction of wind turbines. These can be viewed under the following link: [Insert link to suggestions].
By faster approval and the expansion of wind turbines, Germany can significantly increase its contribution to the energy transition and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It is now up to politics to take the necessary steps to boost the wind energy sector and bring the country to a sustainable, renewable energy course.
