On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, the flag of the "Mayors for Peace" initiative will be raised in front of the Zehlendorf town hall in Berlin. This symbolic act is organized by the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district office and is intended to set a clear sign of peace. The flag ranging is part of a global initiative in which Germany is also involved with over 600 cities. In Wiesbaden, the flag will also be hoisted at the same time to pursue the same goal: the protest against nuclear weapons and the occurrence of a peaceful world Wiesbaden lives. The current geopolitical situation, in particular the threats of nuclear violence in the context of the Ukraine conflict, illustrates the urgency of these efforts.
