For the first time, complaint for better nature conservation: the federal government calls for legal measures
A climate of change has arrived in Germany! The BUND for the Environment and Nature Conservation Germany (BUND) heralds a new chapter in the history of nature conservation - with a groundbreaking constitutional complaint against the file of politics! Together with prominent supporters, including the popular actor Hannes Jaenicke and the committed conservationist Christof Martin, the BUND makes you serious before the Federal Constitutional Court - in a way that puts the entire legislative under pressure!
It is the first time worldwide that a formal lawsuit is being brought to better nature conservation legislation, and urgency could not be greater! The dramatic decline in biodiversity and the rapid loss of natural habitats is not only dark - it affects all of us! Without healthy ecosystems, fertile soils, effective pollinators and clean water, all of our existence is on the brink!
The call to save nature!
Myriam Rapior, the deputy federal chairman, sums up: "When maintaining biodiversity, it is about nothing less than our livelihood." Your appeal is loud and clear - nature in Germany is not adequately protected and the loss is alarming! Despite the warnings of numerous experts, politics cannot be pulled out behind the oven. That has to change!
The lawsuit aims to force the legislator to take immediate measures in order to stop the dramatic loss of species and to restore the biological diversity! The encouragement is strong - not only through private donations, but also by renowned organizations such as the Pelorus Jack Foundation and Protect the Planet!
legal heavyweights are committed to nature conservation!
The collective of lawyers, led by Dr. Franziska Heß and Lisa Hörtzsch, the constitutional complaint will be represented. These lawyers know where the hammer hangs! Supported by Prof. Dr. Dr. Felix Ekardt from the Research Center for Sustainability and Climate Policy, they underpin that the loss of biodiversity is seriously at risk of our most fundamental human rights - such as life, health and nutritional security!
The path that the federal government has been successfully followed in the area of climate protection. The first climate constitutional complaint that was brought before the Federal Constitutional Court in 2018 forced politics to act! Now it is time for nature to get the same protection!
The public is called to stay attentive and to join this fight! The clock ticks, and each one has the power to stand together for a planet worth living. The federal government makes it clear: changes are necessary, and immediately!
