Energy transition for tenants: Salzgitter equips 36 apartments with balcony power plants

In a groundbreaking step in Salzgitter, it is now clear: Tenants can actively contribute to the energy transition themselves! In cooperation with the German Environmental Aid (DUH), the housing association Wohnbau Salzgitter has equipped 36 apartments with innovative balcony power plants. That means: so much personal responsibility has never been!

The revolutionary balcony power plants enable tenants to generate their own climate -friendly energy and at the same time press the rental costs that are constantly increasing. "This is an important signal in the progressive climate crisis!" Says Barbara Metz, the federal manager of the DUH. It is now asking all housing companies to follow this exemplary project. It must finally be the end of the fight for attaching solar devices!

a north star of the energy transition

With a celebration on Franz-Zobel-Straße in Salzgitter-Bad, the project was inaugurated today. And with a clear goal: to drive the energy transition in the living sector! Another plus: The Deutsche Postcode lottery supports this initiative so that every tenant can act environmentally consciously.

"The installation of these balcony power plants is a strong sign! We show that renewable energies and rental apartments can go hand in hand," explains Metz. It is time that tenants are not only viewers, but actively help shape!

technology that inspires!

Why is this project so special? It not only delivers sustainable energy, it is also practical! The balcony power plants consist of one or two modules with several options from 425 to 800 watts. Through targeted planning and installation, which only claimed a week, all balconies were securely equipped. Christian Ofenheusle, Technical Consultant of the DUH, has coordinated and successfully implemented the whole thing. "This would not have been possible without the support," said Jens Bischoff, Managing Director of Housing Salzgitter, who considers the project to be pioneering.

Thanks to the high quality of the devices and the well thought -out integration into the building envelope, the appearance is not only preserved, but also upgraded. And the tenant? They can be happy, because the balcony power plants will feel the savings directly in your wallet!

This pilot project could be the key to further initiatives in the region. Other residential complexes in Salzgitter and Peine are already on the list for further balcony power plants. This is not an empty promise - this is the concrete step to make living sustainable and to integrate the climate -friendly lifestyle into the everyday life of tenants!
