Empowerment culture: What culture needs to survive in times of shitstorms, crises and scandals
Fabian Burstein's new book "Empowerment Kultur" is an exciting insight into the cultural company and the challenges that he faces today. The author himself experienced how he got into a Germany -wide shitstorm, was threatened by right -wing extremists and criticizes the manipulative use of surveys in cultural business. Burstein also takes a look at the job occupation practice in renowned museums and shows that there are also problematic rope teams there.
The book offers a comprehensive analysis of the German -language cultural scene and highlights topics such as political failure, mismanagement and the debates about “woken”. In his predecessor "conquest of the ivory tower" Burstein already described dystopian scenarios, but in "empowerment culture" he designs a future vision of the common struggle for a strong and relevant culture.
The book will be published on June 7, 2024. A book presentation will take place on June 14, 2024 at the 12th Federal Cultural Congress in Berlin. There Fabian Burstein together with Amelie Deuflhard, the artistic director and director of Kampnagel Hamburg, as well as Şeyda Kurt, journalist and author, will talk about his book.
In addition, the book will be presented for the first time on September 19, 2024 in the main library on the belt in Vienna in Austria.
