Ein Jahr nach dem Atomausstieg: Erneuerbare Energie auf Rekordhoch
Ein Jahr nach dem Atomausstieg: Erneuerbare Energie auf Rekordhoch
On April 15, 2023, the last nuclear power plants in Germany were switched off, which was a great success for the environmental movement and the federal government for the environment and nature conservation Germany (BUND). One year after the nuclear phase -out, it can now be seen that the balance sheet is as positive as expected. Nevertheless, there are still demands for a re -entry into the nuclear power that the federal government rejects as a populist brain brush. The expansion of renewable energies reaches record heights and has already compensated for the performance of the atomic reactors switched off. At the same time, the coal current has decreased significantly. This positive trend towards a sustainable electricity system must now be promoted ambitiously.
The role of nuclear power in energy supply is rather insignificant worldwide. Their share of final energy consumption is less than two percent worldwide. Nuclear power therefore does not play a crucial role in energy supply, but is of great importance when starting the construction of nuclear weapons, as the French President Macron recently showed.
The federal government criticizes the attempts in Brussels to improve the image of nuclear power and close a pro atom pact as desperate files. Nuclear power is expensive, uneconomical, dirty and highly dangerous. So-called mini reactors have only existed on paper.
The investments and capacities that are faced for nuclear power are lacking in the nature -friendly expansion of renewable energies and storage technologies, which could make a real contribution to the containment of the climate crisis. So nuclear power is not a salvation. In order to make this rejection clear, the federal government has signed a statement against nuclear power together with over 500 international organizations.
Although the last nuclear power plants have been switched off in Germany, nuclear power is far from history. The radiant waste is still stored in uncertain intermediate camps and the search for a repository is delayed until at least in the middle of the century. This shows that nuclear power has no future.
