Corona vaccination: Experts warn of vaccine shortages
The Berlin House of Representatives has decided that officials in Berlin should work longer in the future. This measure is intended to achieve savings in the household and to increase the efficiency of the administration. So far, officials have worked on average 41 hours a week in Berlin, with the new regulation it should now be 42 hours.
The Association of Officials in Berlin reacted to this decision of the House of Representatives. He criticizes the longer working time and emphasizes that the officials already have a high workload. The association therefore calls for an appropriate compensation for the additional working hours as well as better working conditions to meet the officials.
A spokesman for the association said that the longer working time could lead to an overload of the officials and ultimately could affect the quality of the administrative work. The association plans to work for the interests of the civil servants and to conduct negotiations with the government in order to find a solution acceptable for both sides.
