The district office Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf is currently carrying out an expression process for the implementation of an annual Christmas market on Breitscheidplatz for the period 2024 to 2028 and for up to three other annual events for the period 2025 to 2028. This is done on the basis of the usage and design statute for the square, which was determined by the district office. The aim is to reconcile the pressure on the pitch with the criteria of the statute.

Interested organizers have the opportunity to apply to the district office with specific concepts by March 19, 2024. The organizers' selection is based on the criteria of the statute in order to make a legally compliant and discretionary decision. A public law contract is concluded after the expression of interests in order to ensure sufficient planning security and to make sustainability, quality standards and safety aspects plan and calculable over a longer period of time.

The Breitscheidplatz is a well -known venue in Berlin and has a historical importance.
