Berlin is in traffic chaos! Where there was once speed and reliability, the subways now stand still and buses are often empty. Thousands of Berliners are currently suffering from the disaster of the Berlin Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG), while the timetables have been radically shortened on many lines. People are waiting in vain for trains, and the shock is deep - the bus schedule was only drastically reduced in 2023!

The causes of this traffic disaster are diverse. Delayed deliveries of new trains, the dilapidated infrastructure, which has been neglected for years, and an acute lack of bus drivers - these are just a few of the cliffs where BVG is currently sailing. But while the previous manager, Rolf Erfurt, grabs his things, the question remains: Who is responsible for this complete traffic failure?

Henrik Falk's challenge as a crisis manager

Now the ball is in the field of BVG boss Henrik Falk! He will not only take the reins in his hand, but also lead the location until a suitable successor is found. That means: Falk must roll up the sleeves at short notice and supply the Berliners again with a functioning transport network. It cannot be that passengers will be left in the rain - honest communication is required here!

Instead of the usual dazzling commercials and typical BVG word games, clarity and transparency about the catastrophic situation are needed. Citizens need to know what is really going on and what measures are being planned to improve. Every empty promise, every phrase is now considered with suspicion!

The BVG has already made it clear in the past where the problems are. The proposal to grant the bus and trams priority at traffic lights should urgently be put into practice. This could not only shorten travel times, but also help to ensure that fewer drivers are needed. But that's not all. The outdated infrastructure urgently has to see million -heavy investments in order to finally dissolve the renovation backlog!

In a time when every cent counts, the public funds must also be used sensibly. While the BVG is fighting with these huge challenges, it remains to be seen whether Henrik Falk can create the turn. Time ticks - and the patience of the Berliners is limited!
