New strategy for promoting children and adolescents in Dortmund

Children and adolescents in Germany are not moving too little. According to the Federal Center for Health Education from 2023, this is a problem, since 60 percent of children and adolescents do not achieve the recommended 60 minutes of movement per day. In Dortmund, measures are now to be taken to ensure that children and adolescents can get more in motion and develop their personality in a playful way. This is the goal of the "BVB moves" practice project, in which students of the International School of Management (ISM) advise the Borussia Dortmund football club on the strategic further development of a sustainability initiative.

background

The "BVB moves" initiative aims to promote sustainability in everyday life for children and adolescents through sport. This can have positive effects on the areas of health, community and personal development. In the long term, all children and adolescents in Dortmund should be brought in motion in order to make a contribution to the health and well -being of society.

The strategy

In order to achieve the goal, 2,500 children are to be encouraged in the next two years and in the next five years 5,000 children are to be promoted by movement offers under the guidance of BVB coaches. This requires increased cooperation with schools and daycare centers as well as with partners, sponsors and sponsors. The practical project of the ISM students has therefore dealt intensively with the extraction and commitment of partners and employees. An important task was to build the "BVB moved" brand and the communication of the measures. Workshops and sports days at schools, mobile sports offers as well as network meetings, workshops, projects and events should help to make the initiative known for children, parents and existing partners of the BVB.

integration into the organizational structure

Another aspect that was taken into account in the practical project is to embed the initiative in the structures of BVB. Various scenarios for organizational development were viewed and recommendations were presented. It was emphasized that all relevant stakeholders should be integrated and a common vision should be developed to achieve successful change.

The meaning of "bvb moves"

Prof. Dr. Timo Zimmermann, head of the practical project, emphasizes the importance of the sustainability initiative: "'BVB moves' is a great initiative in the sporting and social area and starts exactly where the BVB has its core competencies and historical anchorage.

FAZIT

The practical project "BVB moves" of the International School of Management supports Borussia Dortmund in the further development of a sustainability initiative to promote children and adolescents in Dortmund. Through movement offers and close cooperation with schools, daycare centers, partners and the entire community, it is intended to ensure that more children and adolescents can get in motion and develop their personality in a playful way. "BVB moves" is an important project to counteract the lack of exercise in society and to promote the well -being of the young generation.
