Book field in Berlin-Kladow talks about holiday tips and missing BVG bus

The library in the village center of Berlin-Kladow is a small but fine family library. Yvonne Wotzka has headed the library for 18 years and offers visitors a wide range of around 17,000 media such as books, films, radio plays, tolinos and Nintendos for children. The library works closely with daycare centers and primary schools.

The building in which the library is used was a primary school. Yvonne Wotzka has the desire to renovate the empty upper floor and use it for new purposes. A "library" sign on the facade would also be desirable to make it more recognizable, which is hidden behind the old facade.

Visitors to the library are mainly daycare children, older women and educational citizens. After the old town library, the library is the most popular loan location in Kladow and Gatow, as many people still like to use books. The most popular books are crime novels with local color, such as crime novels by Sylt, from the Allgäu or from France.

The library would like to become more attractive for working people between the ages of 40 and 55 in the future. An idea is the introduction of an "Open Library", in which the library is open at the weekend without staff and enables electronic loan and camera monitoring.

In addition to its range of media, the library also regularly organizes events for children and families. For example, the magician Felix Wohlfahrt comes to the library on August 15 for a free magic show. In autumn, Tim Pieper will read out of his new thriller for adults.

A wish for the future is a BVG bus that connects Kladow with the neighboring village of Groß Glienicke. This would also enable daycare and primary school children to achieve the library more easily.

yvonne Wotzka has been living in Hohengatow for 40 years and estimates the idyll of the place. However, she wants the town hall to free the beautiful bathing beach in Hohengatow because it grows more and more.

Overall, the library in Kladow offers a diverse range of media and events for children and adults and is a popular starting point for the residents of Kladow and Gatow.
